I'm just about to take the plunge and buy my first skates and was gonna get a pair of Riedell R3's - but I see that they're plastic boots, which sound sweaty and horrible. Anyone know what the best leather alternative would be for a similar spec...or would this cost a whole lot more?

I have: 4 orange sure grip fugitive "pusher" wheels. These are extra grippy wheels worn on either the inner 2 wheels of each skate, or just the front inner wheels, to get extra push on crossovers and stop you slipping if you're crossovering at speed. Bex, Ruby and I all have these wheels I think. I want: 2 or 4 green sure grip ... Does anybody have a pair of size 6 R3s I can try on for size? I'm having trouble getting hold of Torqs, but Everglides still have R3s in stock! Even if I could try a 7 or a 5, it would really help!
