Re: Advice on wheels!
I still have my rubbish black Cayman wheels and when I skated at Cherry Hinton over Christmas I was struggling, I felt really insecure and was sliding
I was considering getting 8 Fugitives & trying them without pushers to start with, would that be any good?

Re: Advice on wheels!
I was just browsing the LRG forum and came across this - thought it might be useful to refer to since there are so many types of wheels out there that it makes choosing them reeeeally confusing - so, read on!...
We've got quite a few new girls with quite a few questions about wheels so I've done a bit of internet research and compiled some basic wheel information to use when trying to figure out what wheels you want to use.
First things first...
Wheel Durometer - simply put, the hardness of the wheel. Usually measured on an A-scale, but some wheels will have a D-scale as well (ie g-rods). 74a is very soft and 95a very hard. Soft equals grippy so the lower the number the grippier the wheel (in theory).
Secondly...
Standard size derby wheels are 62mm x 44m. Narrow wheels are 62mm x 38mm and theoretically offer a bit more maneuvrability.
Here is a list of Indoor wheels and their durometers
Sure Grip Fugitives
Orange - 88-90a
Grey - 89a
Blue, Black, Pink, Red – 92a
Green – 97a
Sure Grip Interceptor
Pink, Blue, Yellow, Red, Black – 93a
Purple, Green – 97a
Sure Grip Power Plus
Pink, Red, Black, Yellow – 93a
Purple, Green – 97a
Radar Flat-Out
Red, Blue, Hot Pink Green – 88a
Radar Flat Outrageous
Pink, Blue, Green, Black - 88a
narrower version of the flat-out
Radar Tuner
Red, Ice Blue, Hot Pink, Yellow-Orange, Green – 93a
Radar Devil Ray
Black – 93a
Orange – 95a
Radar Speed Ray
Red, Yellow-Orange, Hot Pink, Ice Blue – 93a
Green – 95a
Radar Demon
Black, Red, Blue, Pink, Green, Ice Blue, Yellow – 95a
Radar Evo
Red/Black, Pink/Black, Yellow/Blue, Yellow/Green – 95a
Atom (formerly Answer)
Tracker (pink) – 88a
Queen B (blue) – 91a
Tantrum (red) – 93a
G-Rods (white w/green hub) – 93a
D-Rods (black) – 95a
Lowboy (blue w/red hub) - 95a
Fusion (white w/red checked hub) – 97a
Stroker (white w/all red hub) - 98.5a
Atom Slim wheels
Omega (green) – 93a
Omega 2.0 (purple) – 93a
G-Rods 2.0 (hot pink) – 93a
Low Boy Slim (blue w/red hub) - 95a
Stroker Slim (white w/all red hub) - 98.5a
Heartless Wheels - these are narrow wheels
Voodoo (purple) - 86a
Stalker (black) - 88a
Creeper (green) - 90a
Chaser (yellow) - 92a
Breaker (red) - 94a
Vanish (white) - 96a
Outdoor Wheels are usually softer and designed for skating on asphalt, unpolished concrete, and skate parks. As they are softer, they will be grippier so if you want to really push yourself at practice you can wear outdoor wheels on a sport court and get a good workout. If you have worn your outdoor wheels outside, you should make sure they are clean before using them indoors as they might have pebbles and other stuff on them that is likely to scratch an indoor surface.
Unless otherwise noted these wheels are all 62mm, the same as our indoor wheels, but are usually slimmer at 38mm.
Atom Centauri - 88a
Sure Grip Aerobic - 85a
Sure Grip Motion - 78a
Two sizes – 62mm & 65mm
Radar Energy / Radar Fuel - 78a
Radar Pure - 78a
66mm
Radar Zen - 85a
Airwaves - 78a
Kryptonics Cruise 62 / Route 62 / True 65 - 78a
Kryptonics Cruise 65 - 80a
Kryptonics Lemon Twist - 78a
Lemon scented
Kryptonics Orange Outrage - 78a
Orange Scented
Bounce – 80a
Hypersonic – 85a
Kitty has said that Airwaves are great and they are widely available in the UK.
I think that Bette uses suregrip aerobics, and she likes them loads cause they are agile and hard enough for a bit of speed. But perhaps not recommended for people who are not already comfortable skating outdoors and having to maintain balance on dodgy bits.
Again, this is all down to preference.

Re: Advice on wheels!
Darmo - the orange/grey fugis are pushers that go on the left; the green/pink/red/blue are normal ones (albeit with slight differences in hardness) that go on the right (or on both). Black are somewhere in between I think. What do you skate on at the moment?
I have 4 used orange and 8 scarcely used (inc. 4 unused) green which I'm looking to get rid of cheaply because I prefer the wheels I've got now - let me know if you want to either buy them or borrow them for a session.

That would be awesome, there's so many atom wheels I could buy :)
I love wheels, all the variables in type/speed/grip fascinates me.....it's quite sad really!

Re: Advice on wheels!
You'd sell loads I reckon, because lots of LRG skate on D-rods and G-rods, and there isn't a UK supplier at the moment.
