I *want* the low-boy or stroker slims to pair with my omega wheels, I'll have to check with my bank balance though 'cos I've just bought some heartless wheels...

Re: Advice on wheels!
No rush, I have to import them from America, so unless you want to pay air freight charges , they will be a few weeks anyhow, just want pre-orders so I know what to get.

Re: Advice on wheels!
Right we are placing an order for Atom Wheels next week, prices will range from around £25.00 to £60.00 for a set of 4
D-rods and G-rods will be approximately £40.00 for a set of 4
I suggest you pre-order on this thread, as judging by the reaction we have had from other leagues these will sell out fast!
You guys get first refusal of course cos we love you

Re: Advice on wheels!
Does that work out as roughly $1 = £1 - eg, on the Atom website, their RRP for strokers is $120/8 so a set of 4 from you will be roughly £60?
I'm glad you're getting them in 4's - mix'n'match! I just need to see if I like skating on narrow wheels before I decide for sure what I want!
(also - I know I'm nowhere near a good enough skater to warrant loads of super-duper wheels, but I am however a MASSIVE geek with things like this, hence the excitement!)
And for anyone that's visual, like me, the 2010 catalogue is here: http://www.atomwheels.co.uk/Quad/pdf/Catalog.pdf
(there's quite a good "performance matrix" half way through that recommends duromter depending on floor and skater weight).
The 2009 catalogue with RRPs is here: http://www.atomwheels.co.uk/Quad/wheelspread.html

Re: Advice on wheels!
Heartless - grippiest first:
Red - Voodoo - 86a
Black - Stalker - 88a
Green - Creeper - 90a
Yellow - Chaser - 92a
White - Vanish - 94a
According to wheel geeks, if you're going to have pusher wheels, make them at least 4 durometer apart otherwise you may as well just have a full set of the same wheels as the difference is so minimal.
EG Red with Green, Black with Yellow etc
For anyone that's been eyeing up Sugars (which are indoor/outdoor hybrids and supposed to be the BEST thing ever for super-slippery floors) I believe that Atom offer a similar wheel - the Centuri. They're an 88a compared with Sugar's 85a but both use outdoor urathene so should be slightly stickier than indoor equivalent durometer. Making any sense?!!
Not that we skate on a surface that warrants that much grip, but it's worth knowing!
Also, I read that it's advisable, once you're confident on your feet, to use the hardest (least grippy) wheel you can stand whilst practising and then switch to a gripper formula for bouting. It makes sense in theory, but I don't think I'd like changing wheel set-ups going in to a bout!

Re: Advice on wheels!
Yep :) Just been putting them all on the website today, should be live by tomorrow night and they are cheaper than a dollar to pound conversion. I did a test purchase from a US site and with the shipping added too, ours will be cheaper

Re: Advice on wheels!
Darmo - I was wearing four grey Fugitive pushers on Saturday at Windsor and I was still sliding all over the place.
That may have something to do with my (lack of) skating ability in part, so don't take it as gospel that they wouldn't at least be some help!
If you do find anything that might provide a smidgen of grip on a floor like that, let me know and I'll get some just in case...
